Make it a summer to remember! Visit your state parks this summer and experience all the natural beauty Colorado has to offer. Whether you plan a simple day trip or plan on making a road trip out of it, here is your guide to the best deals for vehicle park passes in 2019.
Yearly Pass
If you foresee yourself visiting several different parks, or spending multiple days exploring, you might consider investing in a yearly parks permit. You can purchase an affixed vehicle sticker for $80, which gets you into any Colorado state park for a whole year after your purchase. If you need to register two vehicles, you can also split this pass in two ($40 for each) for another vehicle living at the same address. Another option is a vehicle hang tag for $120. This interchangeable tag can be moved from vehicle to vehicle as long as the pass owner is present on the day of the visit.
Aspen Leaf Pass
Individuals over the age of 64 are eligible for a discounted yearly pass. The Aspen Leaf pass is only $70 and permits entry to any state park for one year. The Aspen Leaf pass can also be bought as two separate passes for $35 each. Note that seniors must be present in the vehicle for the pass to be valid on the day of entry.
Columbine Pass
Disabled individuals are eligible to purchase a yearly parks permit (hang tag) for just $14. Documentation is required and the hang tag may only be used when the qualifying individual is in the vehicle.
Centennial Pass
Low-income Colorado residents are eligible to purchase a discounted vehicle hang tag that is valid until December 31, 2019. These passes are $14 and require income documentation.
Day Pass
If you don’t think you’ll get your money’s worth from a yearly pass, you can always purchase individual day passes. These range from $8 to $9 per vehicle and can be purchased at the attended park gate or at a self-service station.
Veterans Appreciation Month
Veterans and active military can access any Colorado state park for free during the month of August! Military ID or proof of service may be required.
