The impact of COVID-19 has changed a lot of things, including the way we play and enjoy the outdoors. Luckily, many National Parks are open and travel is okay with some precautions. Fall is one of the most beautiful times of the year, and a lot of autumn activities don’t even require you to leave your vehicle! Here are 5 social distance activities to consider for your family this fall.
1. See a Movie
Drive-in theaters have been enjoying a renewed popularity due to the pandemic. Going to see a new movie safely within your own car is a great activity to do in the late summer and early fall before the snow flies. Colorado has a large number of drive-in theaters, so do some research and make a trip out of it!
2. Visit Farmer’s Markets
Many local farmer’s markets are still occurring during the pandemic. Some even deliver right to your car or home. Take advantage of getting out and enjoying the weather by driving to a local farm or market. Just be sure to research safety regulations before you go, and don’t forget your mask.
3. Have a Picnic
Make a lunch, pack the family, and find a gorgeous destination spot to enjoy lunch. There is no shortage of beautiful parks and natural spaces in Colorado, so it should be easy to maintain social distance from others while still enjoying the outdoors.
4. Dine in Your Car
Most restaurants now offer curbside pickup. If you’re still uncomfortable dining in at your favorite restaurants, order pickup and have a car meal. Or, visit a drive-in restaurant that specifically makes the experience of car dining fun and memorable.
5. Tailgate
Get the crew together and throw a football Sunday tailgate party. With WiFi just about everywhere, it’s easy to get access to football games. Additionally, you can seek out restaurants that offer TVs on their patios for game viewing.
Staying active and having fun during the pandemic just takes a little creative thinking. Always put safety first and be sure to observe mask mandates if you’re traveling to another state. From all of us here at Quick-Set Auto Glass, drive safely out there!
