The Last Standing Drive-Ins in Colorado

With one month left of Summer and Fall coming quickly around the corner, the opportune time for the perfect drive-in experience is approaching. 

There are only a handful of drive-ins left in our beautiful state of Colorado therefore you may need to make a day trip out of it. However, there is no better excuse to clean up the vehicle, go for a ride, turn it into a fort, and indulge in some drive-in favorites.  

Here are the last standing Colorado drive-ins you can enjoy this season with your friends and family.

  1. Mesa Drive In: Pueblo, CO

This drive-in movie theater in Pueblo, Colorado shows double features for every showing. Adult tickets are just $11.00 for two movies or $1.00 for children ages 4 to 12. Enjoy viewings open from Wednesday-Sunday at sundown.

  1. The 88 Drive-In: Commerce City, CO

The 88 Drive-In is only a 10-minute drive from downtown Denver. Making this drive-in convenient for most. Adult tickets are $10.00 each and children under the age of 12 are FREE! Enjoy a wide array of snacks and double features on each screen Thursday-Sunday.

  1. Holiday Twin Drive-In: Fort Collins, CO

If you are located in Northern Colorado then this Drive-In is for you. Adult Tickets are only $9.00 and children $6.00. They offer an extensive snack menu including burgers, pretzels, candy, and even alcoholic offerings. The Holiday Twin Drive-In has showings almost every day of the week but can vary so definitely check out their website for more information.

  1. Comanche Drive-In: Buena Vista, CO

This drive-in is the highest elevation drive-in in the United States. Offering beautiful views and nightly showings. Adult tickets are $10.00, children 12 to 5 are $5.00, and 5 and under are FREE! This drive-in has some of the widest varieties of movie showings and events.

  1. The Star Drive-In: Montrose, CO

Now open every night of the week is the Star Drive-In located in Montrose, Colorado. Whether you are there visiting the Gunnison National Park or Telluride, make this drive-in a definitive pit stop. Adult tickets are $8.50, children 11 and under are free, and they even have a senior discount for 60 and over for $6.50. They are said to have incredible cheeseburgers and homemade fries there too!

  1. Best Western Movie Manor: Monte Vista, CO

 We couldn’t pass up adding this one to the list! At Best Western Movie Manor the only way to view the films is to stay at the inn. This provides you with two options or styles of viewing; if you receive a room that faces the big screen you can watch directly from your bed with a massive window or if you room does not have a direct view, you can pull your car around to the big screen to watch. This drive-in still offers a classic snack bar for everyone to enjoy - even if you’re staying in bed!

  1. Tru Vu Drive-In: Delta, CO

This is a great addition to a road trip if you are visiting Palisade, CO for wine, peach, or apple season! Films are only displayed on Friday - Sunday nights and adult tickets go for $11.50 and children 11 and under are only $3.00. They offer concessions and double features for every ticket.

With most of these drive-ins in Colorado turning around 70 years old and only ~300 left in the entire United States. It is our job as Coloradans to support them and keep the classic way of viewing films around!
